Developing an online presence can look like a daunting task. Where do I start? What is involved in creating a website? These are commonly asked questions, and Awsum Web Solutions is just that... web solutions! We can work with your individual needs and find solutions that are right for you. Contact us if you have a project that you think we could help you with, or need some advice.
1. Questionaire
If you are interested in having a website built, the first step is to download a questionaire by clicking here. This questionaire is designed to help you plan your project, and to give us a better understanding of the work required. It's important to be as detailed as possible when completing the questionaire.
2. Domain Registration
The second step is to choose a domain name and register it. Domain registration is the process by which a company or individual can secure a website domain, such as www.yoursite.com, www.yoursite.net, etc. Once you have completed domain registration the domain becomes yours for the period of the contract, usually one year. Before registration expires it must be renewed, or the domain reverts back to being available to the general public.
3. Website Design
The next step is to design and construct the website. We will design it utilizing all the information we have collected from you. Awsum Web Solutions designs and builds simple, usable, and attractive websites that account for speed, file size, readability and accessibility - using W3C web standards.
4. Website Hosting
After the website is completed, it will be placed on a web server. Website hosting is a service which allocates space for customers to showcase their websites on computer servers that are connected to the Internet 24/7. Servers are powerful computers that have extremely large hard drives, or an array of hard drives. Space is then rented to those who want a "website presence" on the Internet.
5. Website Maintenance
Website maintenance is an activity which is done for the purpose of keeping a website running smoothly and to keep a website updated. It may be done on a regular basis, or scheduled as needed. It is important to keep information up to date, and to make sure that the systems used to run the website are also current. It will also improve user experience on the site, which can be very valuable for sites which want to build and retain large user bases.
